Job description:
CLAAUDIA is an interdisciplinary team of ten experts in data science, infrastructure and data management. We work together to help researchers and students achieve AAU's research goals by ensuring accessibility, utilization and guidance in the use of modern research infrastructure and good data management. We are ISO 27001 certified and work according to ITIL principles where we are committed to creating a secure research infrastructure for researchers and students.
CLAAUDIA is looking for two new colleagues who can help solve both large and small tasks in the form of advice and support, as well as support user on-boarding on cloud services/High Performance Computing(HPC) and Cloud/AI-Lab.
As a Data Scientist, your tasks will involve:
- Daily case management of incoming Service Requests and Incidents
- Handling problems, changes, maintenance windows and documentation
- Supporting analysis, processing and handling of data in our research infrastructure
- On-boarding of researchers, teachers and students on local, national and international IT services– including cloud and High Performance Computing(HPC) as well as AI-Lab
- Software setup and help with installation of containers etc. for teaching staff
- Facilitating hands-on workshops with introductions to researchers/students in:
- Slurm(queuing system)
- Container concept– Singularity
- Navigating Linux file system
- Facilitating workshops on the use of local, national and international IT services
- Managing installation and setup etc. of research software and tools
- Participating in projects with regard to developing new research services where you collaborate with internal and external actors
- Engaging in dialogue with the research environments and creating awareness of digital research and new opportunities
Qualifications
We expect that you:
- have a Master's degree and knowledge of scientific research methods and research design
- have a minimum of three years of experience in the use of digital methods and tools
- have experience with advice and support in research IT or related areas have experience with data analysis, e.g. with Python, R, MATLAB, STATA, SAS, CodeRefinery
- have knowledge of Linux and command line tools
- are passionate about combining IT technical knowledge with academic research methods
- have experience in conducting workshops
- are outgoing, driven by professional insight and curious about new technologies
- are enterprising and independent with a sense for delivering good service
- can maintain an overview and are good at communicating with all types of users
- are good at communicating both orally and in writing in Danish and English.

The positions is in the CLAAUDIA team which is part of the unit Digitalization and Transformation(DOT) in AAU's overall IT organization– AAU IT Services(ITS).
This positions is at Fredrik Bajers Vej 1, 9220 Aalborg Øst.
Working hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00-15:30 and Friday 08:00-15:00 with the possibility of flextime.

The positions is permanent full-time positions of 37 hours and is to be filled by 1 March 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Løn og ansættelsesvilkår
AGREEMENT
Employment and salary are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement in the state sector, including the Organisations of Public Employees collective agreement. Qualification-based supplements may be granted, subject to negotiation.
There is a 3-month mutual trial period.
