Graph Machine Learning and Graph Data Management

At Section for DATA, Department of Computer Science, Aalborg University, a postdoc position is available. The project is funded by a Novo Nordisk Foundation RECRUIT grant ("Data Management, Algorithms, & Machine Learning for Emerging Problems in Large Networks – with Interdisciplinary Applications in Life & Health Sciences". NNF22OC0072415).

The position is open for appointment from Feb 1, 2026 or soon thereafter. The postdoc position is for until Dec 31, 2026.

The research is in the broad area of graph data management, mining, systems, and machine learning on graphs, including knowledge graphs, social and biological networks, financial networks, temporal and dynamic graphs, uncertain graphs, explainability and fairness of deep learning methods on networks.

The aim will be publishing several research papers at top-tier data mining, data management, or machine learning conferences based on the research work. The project’s principal supervisor is Associate Professor Arijit Khan, Department of Computer Science. Within the area, the position comes with many freedoms in terms of the specific research direction, methodology, and approaches taking the specific project needs into consideration. Applicants for a postdoc position must have a PhD degree and good publications in relevant areas.

Regarding the host institution: Aalborg University was founded in 1974 and has a strong international profile in Mathematics, and Computer Science & Engineering. The Computer Science Department at Aalborg University takes a leading international position within data management and verification. Aalborg is an attractive student city located at a fjord and close to the sea, and is well-connected (by car, train, but also via Aalborg Airport). Qualification requirements 
Appointment as postdoc requires academic qualifications at PhD level.
